New Ads Expose Past Tobacco Industry Animal Testing to Teens

With over 50,000 views in just a few weeks, these new ads that expose past tobacco industry animal testing for the Ydouthink campaign in Virginia are causing controversy online.

Teens have posted thousand of comments discussing this topic on Ydouthink’s Facebook page. In fact, at the height of this new campaign, there were over 2,500 people “talking about this” on Facebook (Oct. 28 – Nov. 3).

With the help of three youth from the actual programs, Judy, Blayne, and Nataanil, as well as Soni Dighe, a youth engagement expert at Rescue Agency, Jeff presented each component of the Evolvement strategy to an audience of nearly 100 tobacco control professionals.

The tobacco industry has worked hard over the years to make smoking seem attractive.

While tobacco prevention campaigns have done a lot to remind us that smoking is bad for our health, that the the tobacco industry is trying to manipulate us, and that secondhand smoke is dangerous, we have not yet changed the idea that smoking is attractive to many teens and young adults

Ydouthink is changing that.

The ‘What’s Hot?’ campaign is focused on challenging the idea that people think smoking is attractive.
